 SO THAT’S A NO, JOE?

Treasurer Joe Hockey today confirmed that Western Australian voters will be kept in the dark about Liberal cuts when they go to the polls on 5 April.

When asked whether he would treat Western Australian voters with respect and release the long awaited Commission of Audit report before the Western Australian by-election, the Treasurer took 2 minutes to say what he could have said in one word: no.

Western Australians know all too well that Liberals say one thing before an election, and do quite the opposite afterwards. They’ve seen Colin Barnett’s broken promises on health, education, road and rail – and should be rightly worried about what Tony Abbott’s secret Commission of Audit has in store for their health and education services.

To not release the Commission of Audit before the April 5 by-election will be to treat Western Australians with the utmost of contempt.

Western Australians cannot afford a Barnett-style government in Canberra without a strong Senate.

Mr Abbott has said he wants his government in Canberra to be just like the Barnett Government in WA - and that means one thing. More cuts to education, more cuts to health and more cuts to jobs.

This election gives WA a chance to send a message to Tony Abbott and Colin Barnett that you don't support their cuts to health and education.
